On the tracks of Mary Magdalene and the Templars in the land of the Cathars and on the tracks of Salvador Dali

Discover with us the secretive, mystical and powerful places in Languedoc-Roussillon, leaving from Rennes le Château.

A very special highlight of this journey are the rituals of the different reverences to the Maries, shown by the Sinti and Roma and also by the Catholic Church. Get the experience of this annual pilgrimage in the tiny village Les Saintes Maries de la Mer in the Camargue.

Then we will go to Spain and follow in the tracks of the surrealistic genius, Salvador Dali.

You will be surprised in a spiritual way and you will also enjoy the French and Spanish cuisine.

Friday 23rd May

Our pilgrimage is starting. Once the shrine is taken down today, Sara's statue is carried by the gypsies to the sea, to symbolise the waiting and the welcoming of the Saintes Maries de la Mer by Sara, patroness of the gypsies. Then the procession goes back to the church accompanied by cheers, musical instruments and the peal of church bells.

Sara's statue is situated in the crypt of the church, at the right of the altar. She wears a multicoloured dress and jewels.

In the evening we will enjoy our meal in one of the many outstanding restaurants with the typical atmosphere of the gypsies

Saturday 24th May

The 24th of May is a day dedicated to the Saints of the village: Mary Jacobé and Mary Salomé, both of them taken in procession to the sea. The gypsies, surrounded by the pilgrims, the Arlesians, the cowboys wearing the traditional costume, and pilgrims from all over the world, carry them. Then the Bishop blesses them. During those two days, there are many services and prayers in the church.

We will spend our evening in a little restaurant close to the sea.
